Enamel cutting mechanism and performance of different dental burs: an in vitro study

Abstract Tooth enamel machining is a common procedure in dental surgery, yet the cutting mechanisms and performance of different burs remain unclear. In field, this poses challenges for dentists selecting appropriate specific operations. engineering creates difficulties understanding tooth designing new high-performance burs. Therefore, objective study to bridge gap between medicine by comprehending machining. This established an experimental system utilized fissure bur, diamond round bur conduct drilling milling experiments on occlusal, buccal/lingual, mesial/distal surfaces tooth. The results indicate that, compared buccal/lingual surfaces, force lower ( p < 0.05) but temperature higher occlusal surface. Furthermore, generated lowest temperatures best quality. quality lacked precision 0.05). smallest largest analysis structure various explains aforementioned phenomena.
